How can businesses benefit from AI? Unsurprisingly, human behaviour must first change.

A report from the Harvard Business Review offers some rather practical suggestions.

  1. Behavioural changes needed

Workers need to learn whether to use generative AI for specific tasks, as well as how to do it. This takes effort and a change from their natural inclinations.

  1. Experiment to find out

Surprise! Generative AI tools don't always improve the quality of output or boost productivity. HBR suggests verifying AI's effectiveness with controlled experiments.

I recently wrote an article explaining why AI is dismal at writing editorial content.

  1. Human development not optional

To get workers to commit to AI, businesses must start with a commitment to using AI to augment employee capabilities, not replace them.

This is the only route to getting them to gain a deep understanding of AI, figure out prompt engineering, and how to integrate AI into their workflows.

How are you (or your organisation) integrating generative AI into your workflows?
