Was at a media briefing earlier today where Lenovo shared a new study of 900 APAC respondents about their attitudes and approaches towards AI adoption.
The above remark was made by Lenovo's Scott Tease at the briefing. Scott strongly believes that AI will create far more jobs than it replaces.

Here's some nuggets of insights from the IDC study commissioned by Lenovo.
๐ธAI market is worth SG$400 billion by 2027. Indeed, over 90% of CIOs believe generative AI will eventually become a source of competitive advantage. A mere 9% consider it is a "distraction".
๐ธIn Singapore (n = 60), the top adoption challenges around generative AI are: High dependence on third parties, hallucinations, and security.
๐ธBusiness leaders and IT leaders hold different perception regarding generative AI - ranking them 1st and 4th respectively. My theory? Enthusiasm is high (CEO), but use cases are still being hashed out (CIO).

If there is a noteworthy takeaway, it would be how companies are planning to increase AI spending by 45% this year compared to 2023.
Priorities are:
- Generative AI.
- Machine learning.
- Deep learning systems.
- Robotics.
"AI at its essence is teaching the computer to do something we didn't think could be done without a human being," said Scott.
According to him, "personal AI" may well be the future. This would be AI assistants that knows our likes, dislikes, and preferences to deliver highly personalised help.
No mention about fetching the coffee, unfortunately.
